A Girl Romance with Music

I run a music radio show at Radio Royale every saturday night and sunday morning. For vintage lovers: rock, swing, beat, garage, soul & milkshake pop. A great excuse to make my flyers and posters editing some fabulous ( and aproved by romance authority) girl comics.

...or a free hommage to the film "The Liasons Dangereux".

I know It wasn't a good exercise for the school but I think it works in my very personal point of view.

The Paper Cut Out Experience

I was very obsessed with the idea of turn my artwork into paper cuts ( inspired in equal shares by punk and Paul Rand masterpieces) and then, to make animations with papers and glue, like 50s canadian vanguard animators did. One year later, I discover the great advantages of the After Effects ©. Just take one minute to enjoy my timewasting experience in "bricolage for dummies" or "photoshop for the poor".

Unfinished Stories...

Some trailers of projects that for whatever reason I've just never finished...yet. Need some time and lots of coffees! I already have bought the buddy holly antireflex glasses to spend hours and hours in front of the computer.

The first animation in Lolitown

This is my first project with prehistoric technique. The same technique of Quirino Cristiani, the precursor of animation have used in "El Apostol", few years ago: 1917. Lolo & I worked hard during a day to bring you this amazing clip which has had its opening night in 2005.

We gratefully acknowledge the Disney Studios for their help in obtaining Mickey Mouse© for this film.

Dance tonight, revolution tomorrow

I'm not a proud communist but I love the idea of making my artwork useful. Music posters could communicate and could be collected as artyfacts in equal shares. And I am proud of being part of this exhibition that takes place in Kentucky, Museum of Art & Crafts.

Here we are the info about the Upcoming exhibition of Gig Posters. You can visit the website too.

Gig Posters: The Art of Contemporary Music Promotion
(March 6 to May 16, 2009)

Opening Reception: Friday March 6, 2009, 5 - 9 pm

The best concert posters have always captured both the essence of the music they promoted and the spirit of the time in which they were produced. This is as true today as it was in San Francisco during the Sixties. Gig Posters: The Art of Contemporary Music Promotion provides the general public with an opportunity to see fine poster art and to meet some of the artists who created it, and even walk away with a keepsake from their favorite band.

Because of the universal appeal of music and poster art, the exhibition will include not only the best of American artists but also include a selection of artists from around the world. Local exhibiting artist and designer Ron Jasin, will be screen-printing one-of-a-kind posters for the show live opening night.
